Plain-English rules for using Closr's coming-soon site

Last updated: November 17, 2025

Our Simple Terms

By using Closr's website or joining our waitlist, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our site. We keep these in plain English because you should understand what you're agreeing to.

Stage check: We're in validation and MVP development. We're not yet accepting users, not processing payments, and not handling rental transactions.

What Closr Is Right Now

Closr is a coming-soon website for an early-stage real estate marketplace. We're gathering interest and feedback so we know what to build when we launch the full platform (planned for late 2026). When we get there, the real product will have separate agreements for renters, landlords, service providers, and buyers.

Your Eligibility

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.
  • Don't violate any laws in your jurisdiction.
  • Don't access our site from a country under US embargo (unless permitted by law).

What You Can and Can't Do

You can:

  • Browse our website.
  • Join our waitlist.
  • Send us feedback about housing problems.
  • Unsubscribe from emails anytime.
  • Download any resources we make public.

You can't:

  • Hack, spam, or attempt to break into our systems.
  • Scrape our website data automatically without permission.
  • Pretend to be someone else or provide false information.
  • Use our site for illegal purposes.
  • Harass our team or other users.
  • Reverse-engineer our code or submit it to AI training datasets.

If you break these rules, we can disable your account and contact authorities if necessary.

User-Generated Content (Feedback)

  • You own what you write.
  • You give Closr a permanent, free license to use, modify, and share it for product development.
  • We can use your feedback in public case studies or blog posts, but we'll anonymize or ask permission first.
  • You're responsible for what you submit (no illegal content, no impersonation, no threats).

Intellectual Property

  • Closr owns all logos, designs, text, and code on this site.
  • You can't copy or use our branding without permission.
  • Don't submit code or content you don't own.

Warranties Disclaimer

Here's what we're NOT promising:

  • The website may go down or be unavailable. We're building this in our spare time while working full-time.
  • We don't promise the website will be error-free.
  • We don't promise we'll launch on any specific date.
  • We don't promise your data won't be lost (though we're careful).

In other words: This is an early-stage project. Be patient with us. If you can't handle occasional bugs or outages, wait until we're more mature.

Limitation of Liability

We're not responsible for:

  • Lost emails or messages you send us.
  • Data loss due to your device, not ours.
  • Any decisions you make based on our website.
  • Any damages, lost profits, or business interruption.

Maximum liability: If we somehow owe you money, it's zero dollars. Because we're free right now and early-stage.

Why this matters: We're bootstrapped. Massive liability would shut us down. We're transparent about this limitation because we believe honesty matters more than legalese.

Termination

We can terminate or suspend your account if you:

  • Violate these terms.
  • Engage in illegal activity.
  • Spam, harass, or harm other users.
  • Try to break into our systems.

We'll try to email you first. If you think it was unfair, email us and we'll review it.

Third-Party Links

Our website may link to other websites. We don't control them. We're not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Check their terms before using them.

Changes to These Terms

We'll update these terms as we grow. We'll email major changes to waitlist subscribers, post updates with an effective date, and give 30 days notice if changes negatively impact you. Your continued use of the site means you accept the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, where Closr is based. If there's a dispute, we'll try to resolve it through email first. If that fails, it goes to arbitration in Ontario, not court.

Why arbitration? We can't afford to go to court over a free coming soon website. Arbitration is faster and cheaper.

Severability

If any part of these terms is found illegal or unenforceable, that part gets removed, but the rest stays in force.

Entire Agreement

These terms, combined with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Closr. If we agreed to something verbally, these written terms override it.

What's Different About These Terms

Compared to big tech companies:

  • We're honest about our limitations.
  • We don't have hidden revenue models (no data selling, no ads planned).
  • We're transparent about our stage and constraints.
  • We ask for permission before using your feedback publicly.
  • We explain why each clause exists.

Compared to typical startup terms:

  • We acknowledge we're bootstrapped and can fail.
  • We don't promise perfection.
  • We're upfront about what we collect and why.
  • We give users more control over their data.
